Since the partnership began, Amby consultants have made 140+ new hires across various locations, departments, and hiring teams.
For over a hundred years, Hafslund has worked in the hydropower industry to find more sustainable energy solutions. Headquartered in Skøyen, Norway, and with over 900 employees, Hafslund’s mission is to promote sustainability by creating renewable energy solutions. They wholly or partially own more than 81 hydropower plants in Norway.
Between joint ventures and acquisitions, Hafslund has been experiencing substanstial growth in recent years. And like most growing companies, Hafslund needed to attract and retain top talent to help fuel this growth.
Although Hafslund had an experienced HR team behind them, they only had one resource working with recruitment full-time. Additionally, the team needed to standardize recruitment processes across the organization. The company’s growth meant that the team needed to bring on new competencies and full-time recruitment capacity to help prepare the company for future growth and change in market needs.
Since September 2022, Amby and the Hafslund team have partnered up to tackle their hiring roadmap. Amby consultants were quickly absorbed in Hafslund’s core team, and once onboarded, the consultants and the internal team were moving as one unit. Hafslund’s acquisition of several companies put our Amby consultants in a unique position because we had to adjust our way of working to accommodate expansion.
The team has also worked to standardize recruitment processes across their existing and recently acquired companies. Together with Hafslund’s Head of Recruitment, Amby consultants reviewed a new hiring roadmap so the recruitment team could start streamlining their recruitment processes and filling roles across its engineering, IT, Project Management, and Finance departments. The Hafslund-Amby partnership also began introducing elements of the Amby Way into their recruitment processes across their offices, as well as implementing TeamTailor as their new ATS.

In a year and a half, the Amby x Hafslund collaboration resulted in 140+ new hires across various locations, departments, and hiring teams. The new hires included Engineers, Developers, Tech Leads, and Business Controllers.
As recruitment advisors, the Amby team took an active part in all stages in the hiring practices, to ensure fairness, stability, and advisory to hiring managers and candidates. By being treated as in-house recruiters, Amby consultants have access to all information we need to excel in their role. Additionally, we were given trust, and a clear mandate to not only follow process, but to advise and challenge hiring managers to reach the best possible result.
The transparent and welcoming culture of this collaboration has helped the Amby team achieve vast knowledge across the company - and most importantly, this dynamic ensures that candidates never feel like they are working with an external recruitment agency.
