Setting Goals

Educators often have to submit learning goals for a program. This document contains information related to possible educational goals. It might be helpful to also share this material with staff you will be working with from the community.

I generate my educational goals for students after I address all of the previous issues to the best of my ability. This way I can make sure I pick realistic goals. I generally find that the project meets goals in the following areas:

It is important to point out that you may be working with therapeutic and service professionals who also have goals. For instance, a therapeutic recreation specialist might have goals which involve your students such as:

Teaching and helping professionals can weave their efforts into a tighter mesh if they take the time to share their goals with each other.
