When there are no Parentheses (or other grouping symbols), and no Exponents (powers or roots), work from left-to-right: When you come to either Multiplication or Division, do it!
When nothing remains but Addition or Subtraction, work from left-to-right:
- Complete the first operation.
- Write the answer under the operation sign;
bring down everything else.
- Begin again at the left.
- Continue until the problem is finished.
